Don't Push The Button!

Don’t Push The Button! by Bill Cotter is a fun, interactive book that is involves a very curious monster named Larry. The book is part of a whole series of interactive books. It is recommended for ages 2 and up. Larry gets into lots of different mishaps as he is trying not to do things. Here are a few ideas for use at home:

Speech & Language: Have your child follow the directions that Larry gives. You can also encourage them to predict what will happen on the next page.

Fine Motor/Visual Motor: Work on turning pages in a book. Your child can also practice finger isolation by “pushing” the button in the book.

Sensory: Have your child finger paint (with washable paint) a monster.

Gross Motor: Read the book with your child. Then create your own button and as the child pushes the button have them turn into different animals/people/objects that they have to walk like/pretend to be (frog, dancer, airplane, rabbit, penguin, dinosaur, dog, monkey, crab, rocket ship, etc.).

Don't Push The Button! can be purchased through our Therapy Shop here: Don't Push The Button!
